Plantar fasciitis is the inflammation of the plantar fascia. This plantar fascia, is located in the foot which connects the heel bones to the toe bones. So when the pain is felt on the base of the foot here, generally we think it is a plantar fascitis. Some of them think it as a calcaneus spur due to excessive pulling of this fascia, there could be some new bon growth which can be seen in the x-ray. Some people call it as the heel pain syndrome but for us all signifies the same. Plantar fascitis, heel pain syndrome, calcaneus spur have something in the common. Which is nothing but the pain and inflammation and these people will have pain in the morning when they wake up. First few steps of pain will be so severe in the foot. So as they continue to walk, the pain will gradually subside. So these are the symptoms of plantar fasciitis. People who have excessive weight, people who are working in long standing positions, people whose job is involved in standing and walking for a longer period of time are the on who are vulnerable. Apart from that there are certain foot types where the arches are collapsed or the arches are very high, these people can also get this pain. Some people have joints that are hypermobile and some joint state is hypomobile. Those subsets of people will get that type of pain in the heel. So actually the causes of plantar fascitis is a number of varieties but we need to really identify which is the real cause of this plantar fascitis and accordingly we have to be treating it.
