Plantar Causes Plantar Symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis
I'm doing this video about plantar fasciitis to help people who, like me, have never heard. But one of my close relatives was recently found out she had it, so I started reading articles and visiting websites like those you see here. I'll summarize some of the basics I learned about this type of foot pain in the next minute or so.
The plantar fascia is a thick band of tissue that runs along the very bottom of your foot, as you can see in the graphic to the left.. It connects your heel bone to your toes. This tissue supporting the arch.
There are a number of symptoms that tell you that you probably have plantar fasciitis.
* Stabbing pain in the bottom of your foot when you first wake up,
* Pain if you've been standing for a long time.
* If you exercise, you'll notice increased discomfort, not so much during your workout, as afterward.
People over the age of 40 are most likely to get plantar fasciitis. So are enthusiastic runners and individuals who are obese. Jobs that require a lot of standing or walking on hard surfaces put you at higher risk. But you can also get it from wearing shoes that don't give your feet enough support. And sometimes, there no apparent reason at all -- it just happens.
If you're experiencing any of the symptoms I've described, it's best to see your doctor to get a professional medical opinion.
I have some other short videos that briefly cover other topics related to the plantar fasciitis. You'll find links below.
